You may have noticed some additions to the Alamy homepage, including links through to some of our contributors
In our conversations with customers we have learnt that many of them are unaware of the breadth and scope of contributors available on Alamy. The new links on the home page are just one part of a wider strategy to convey to the customer the range of content available on Alamy.
We know from past initiatives that links on the homepage get very little buyer traffic in comparison to search activity, however we think there may be some benefit in highlighting contributor groups on the homepage to register glancing interest. We're sorry if your name is not on the list but it is not possible for us to show all 18,000 contributors at once and we don't anticipate that it will have any bearing on your sales performance on Alamy.
The lists will change over time, some names will remain, some will be added and some will be replaced.
This initiative, along with the recent introduction of mouseover previews are just two steps in a programme of developments to enhance the customer experience from the homepage through searching and ultimately to purchasing images.
