Manage Images v2.2 on its way

Sticking with our approach of regular development and updates to Manage Images, version 2.2 is just about ready to be released next week.

So, what's new?

  • Built in spell checker. This will let you know via a red underline that you have spelt something incorrectly, and right clicking (or ctrl clicking on a mac) on the word will offer you correct spellings. It's worth noting that the dictionary is set to US English but you can add words and variations to the dictionary should you wish to do so.
  • "Go to" feature. You can now enter the page number you want to view rather than having to click "next".
  • Description field. The description field has been removed from the list of searchable fields. As the search facility in Manage Images runs off the same search engine as the main website, we have had to remove this option as it no longer is 'seen' by the search engine.
  • Bugs. Various small fixes.

Most of these changes have come from direct feedback from you so thanks very much.

There are still a number of features and suggestions we are working on for future updates, largely based on the feedback we have received after announcing the old version of the tool will be removed in the future. We don't want development on these features to hold up the things we have already completed, hence the incremental release approach. Rest assured though that we have been listening and will continue to listen to contributor feedback, so don't panic if your number one desired feature is not going to appear in 2.2.
