We wanted to remind you that the changes to the Alamy contract formally announced on 26th November 2008 will come into effect on 10th January 2009. This is in line with our 45 day notice period for any changes.
If you haven't had a chance to review them, the key changes are listed
here.
The new contract is available here.
The key reason for issuing a new contract is the 5% increase in Alamy's commission on all commission schedules as announced on our blog.
The following commission splits will apply from January 10th 2009:
- Alamy Blue: Alamy commission 40%, Contributor commission 60%
- Alamy Red: Alamy commission 20%, Contributor commission 80%, storage fees and submission fees still apply
- Alamy Green: Alamy commission 30%, Contributor commission 70%, storage fees still apply
Alongside these changes payment fees on all commission schedules will also be discontinued.
If you registered after November 26th you will already be operating under the new contract, the only thing that will change for you will be the commission splits and payment fees will fall inline with the new contract.
These new commission splits are applied at the time of invoice. This is the date we receive usage confirmation from the customer.
There may be cases where images may have been used before January 10th but the customer confirms
usage to us after this date.
In these cases the new commission splits will apply. It will be impractical to attempt to backdate these charges.
