Increased security changes and site downtime on Saturday 6th September

We have been working on some changes to the Alamy site to further increase security. The change that you need to be aware of is that we will be displaying bank account numbers in the format ****1234 where 1234 is the last four digits of your bank account number. The remainder of the number will be starred out as asterisks i.e. ****. There are no other changes that will affect the way you work with Alamy.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind contributors that they should avoid emailing full bank details to Alamy and also to not email passwords.

If you make a change to your payment details you will receive a confirmation email from Alamy. This will include the old and new details. Very occasionally Alamy may make a change to the details ourselves, these will be very minor details made to ensure payments go through smoothly. You will receive confirmation if Alamy makes such a change and once again you will be able to check the old and new details.

These changes are being made this weekend, so the Alamy website will unfortunately be unavailable during Saturday 6th September 2008. The work is scheduled to run from 4.30am GMT through until 8.30am GMT but we cannot guarantee that it will not take longer. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
