We are pleased to announce the arrival of the Alamy forum!

Following the feedback received over the last few months we thought it would be an ideal time to give you a place where you can discuss, debate and deliberate with likeminded individuals.

It’s not a closed forum, which means potential Alamy contributors, newcomers and seasoned pros alike can all get involved. The registration for the forum is separate from your Alamy contributor registration, so even if you’re already an Alamy contributor, you will still need to register in order to be able to post. This is a simple step that should only take a few minutes.

Currently we have no plans to actively moderate as we hope this won’t be necessary – we are all adults after all! Its effectiveness will really rely on how you collectively contribute; this is very much designed to be your forum.

As with the blog comments, don’t expect to engage in discussions or get your questions answered directly by Alamy through the forum. If you need us to look into something for you please email Member Services, but first why not check the forum? Your question may have already been answered by a fellow photographer.

Please note – Alamy reserve the right to remove or lock any topics or posts at any time. Alamy can also remove and ban any user as they see fit, should it be deemed appropriate. We hope we don’t have to do that, but we are also realistic enough to know that it may be an inevitable step we have to take.

Please familiarise yourself with the rules before registering and posting, we hope you find it to be a useful resource.

Very welcome. Thanks Alamy for setting up this forum. I'm that it will be used constructively by all those who appreciate that Alamy and its contributors are on the same side.

Anyone having trouble accessing their lightboxes - being asked to log in with email address and password continuously, not able to bypass that screen? Shows I am logged in, just no access to all the lightboxes I worked so long on ... ??

I was raised in the area where alamy is just now, I am at present living so far away from Didcot, I am now in South China near Hong Kong, I have been a member for several years and have been sending my pictures in the tif format, now I have been requested to send (upload) in jpeg has thrown me a "curve" I guess I will need a bit of assistance getting to know this routine.
My D100 was easy because it had tif built in, now my D200 has not got this facility, I have no idea why Nikon dropped the idea, I thought tif was a pain at first but over the years I have learned to accept it,
my little back up weapon now is a D40 (in the sock) I find it easier to carry, but again no tif built in, it has nec raw but again not easy for me to convert to the new upload format, 8 bit/24 bit drives me crazy to understand all this.

I'm glad to see that Alamy now has a forum and that its not going to be moderated as such. If used correctly it will surely benefit us all.

P.S. The "captcha script" needs a bit of work though. Maybe just include numbers and letters.
